You know that the series continues past volume three (The Black Pool), right?
I’ve been hard at work on bringing the fourth volume, Raven Quest, to market. Of course, life (mostly illness) and other projects (mostly anthologies) have intervened, and the book has been delayed a couple of years. I know. I never meant it to go on that long. But the book is coming. I’m in the midst of the last round of significant revisions. After that, I’ll do another couple of read throughs to pick out any story or storytelling problems and to hunt down and obliterate typos. At this point, I’m hoping to have Raven Quest out for public consumption in June of this year.
I’m also closing in on finishing the first draft of volume five—The Chaos Witch—and have already first drafted the manuscript that will end up being split into volumes six and seven. And that should then do it for the Valhalla series, at least for the time being. But we’re still looking into 2017 and possibly beyond to get all seven volumes released.
Additionally, I’ve been working with my cover artist to rebrand the entire series with new cover art. We both love the covers he’s already produced, but they don’t seem to capture the look and spirit of the urban fantasy genre. Once we’ve nailed down what the new covers should look like, we’ll start pushing those out for the already published books.
And, yes, I’m still working on the Valhalla series glossary, though new entries haven’t yet been pushed out to the live website.
So even though things have been quiet on the public front, there’s an awful lot going on behind the scenes with this series. I’ve also been developing ideas, outlines, and drafts for other books as well, so be on the lookout for plenty of new material from yours truly beginning—hopefully—this summer.
